"A message to older women, not in great condition. I’m 62 with osteoarthritis diagnosed in my early 40s. I’ve had one hip replaced and the other is declining which means I can’t run or jump. I have advanced osteoarthritis in one foot so I can’t bend my toes and it can be painful.
Before working with Esa I had convinced myself that I needed to be careful and lifting heavy probably wasn’t for me. I was frightened of making things worse and being in even more pain. I often had pain in lower back. Pains in my hips and side. I had a ‘I can’t do that’ attitude.
However forward nearly 6 months and I have a ‘I can certainly give that a go’ attitude. I’m still cautious. My lower back pain has gone completely. My hips are stronger, more flexible and pain free. I don’t get pains in my sides and I feel strong! My toes will never get better but Esa always has a work around. My posture strength and flexibility have all improved which makes day to day living so much easier!
I really wish older women knew that lifting heavy is amazing and everyone should give it go! It’s also really good fun!

What I like most about the sessions is that Esa adapts to whats needed in the moment, she is a great listener. She will also push you to your limits whilst having a laugh.

Plantar fascitis appears to be a distant memory - it's really nice to not have achy old lady feet in the mornings!
